The PMYA nomination form gives you a maximum of 250 words to summarise a nominee’s achievements. That is short, which is exactly why every sentence has to count. This guide shows how to make your 250 words clear, credible and easy for the judges to score.
Check the basics first
Before you write, make sure the nomination qualifies.
- The achievements must fall between October 2024 and 31 October 2026
- Nominations close on Saturday, 31 October 2026, and late entries are not considered
- Individuals, organisations and brands can be nominated
- Self-nomination is allowed, provided everything you submit is verifiable and accurate
Choose the right award
Read the description of each award and pick the one that fits the nominee best. A tightly matched nomination in the right award is stronger than a general one in a prestigious category. The Award Categories page groups all awards by sector to help you decide.
A simple structure for 250 words
Who they are (30 words)
Introduce the nominee and what they do. Name the organisation or brand if relevant and where they work in Plateau State.
What they achieved (100 words)
Describe the main achievements within the eligibility window. Use specifics: what was built, launched, funded or changed, and when. Numbers help, provided they are accurate.
Why it mattered (80 words)
Explain who benefited and how. Judges look for impact on people and communities, so give a concrete example.
Why they deserve this award (40 words)
Connect the story directly to the award description. Show that the nominee reflects the values of excellence, integrity, inclusivity and impact.
Back it up with evidence
The form allows supporting evidence. Add links to media coverage, reports or websites, and upload documents or images of up to 5 MB where they strengthen the case. Evidence turns a claim into something the Secretariat can verify during screening.
Mistakes to avoid
- Listing a job title instead of describing achievements
- Using achievements from outside the eligibility window
- Claims that cannot be checked
- Waiting until the final day, when the form is busiest
After you submit
Your nomination goes through screening and verification, then shortlisting by the Technical Committee. Approved nominees appear for public voting. Ready to begin? Open the Nominate page and complete the form before the deadline.
